Thanks for the response and mini tutorial. When I get around to working with a CAT rig again, I'll be sure to give this a try. 😄

Hi

Can you only copy and paste bones from one side of a CAT rig to the other when it's in the default position? Is this the only way? I've noticed that whilst posing my rig with the Layer Manager, I'm unable to click on the Copy and Paste buttons to copy the right posed arm to the left.

The mesh is symmetrical, and I've mirrored the weights, but the posed right hand and fingers don't seem to mirror over correctly. 😕

Thanks

I'm sorry you've gotten no response on this. It's not in my skill set so I can't help but I did want to check in. I'm sure you've done some Googleing. Did you ever solve it? If you did, can you post your solution in case it helps someone else?

Hi

Nope. I never did manage to figure it out. I had to just pose the other side manually. 😕 Due to the lack of response, I completely forgot all about this thread.

Maybe I am a "littel" late 😅 but here is my way to do that. This is my littel tutorial, any questions please tell me.

P.S: I use Poser Mixer, but now in 2025 doesnt work anymore, I dont understand why.

Oh m'goodness! I believe I have finally an answer to something! What has worked for me is this:

1. Select the limb with the animation on it

2. Right Click - Select "Save Pose" and save the pose with a name you'll recognize later

3. Select the limb that the pose is to be mirrored to

4. Right Click - Select "Load Pose". Select your saved pose and the limb should pop into place! If you've saved several poses you may have to scroll down the list to find the pose you're looking for.

(I'm using Max 2023)

2 years late but I hope it helps someone. If it does, pls let me know I got it right. It will make my day.

This may not solve your issue, but I found this additional script also helpful - CAT Pose Grabber

It can fill it where the default CAT Clip/Pose tool can't quite do the job.

https://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/cat-pose-grabber
