I copy design scenario (DS) 1 into DS2. DS1 includes two Surface Groups and one Surface Contact Pair (using Surface Groups).

Please see attached movie file (SWF).

After copying DS1 into DS2, I returned to DS1. Then, I returned to DS2, I found that the Surface Groups and Surface Contact Pair have disappeared.

Is this a technical issue?

Attached ZIP file includes ACH file and movie(SWF) file.

Best regards,

Amatsuda

I notice that this error appears only when I select MES analysis.
For example with linear analysis the copied design scenario works correctly.

Hi everyone,

A coworker discovered a work around. After copying the design scenario, edit the name of one of the selection groups. I tried it with Sim Mech 2017 and changed the name of one of my selection groups (the model had 4), and it worked.

Let us know if it works (or doesn't work) for you.

I confirm this is an old issue.

OK for the workaround but what about the fact your model does not have any group...?

So, the best should be to have a perfect copy command.

Hi,

I have a very similar problem, perhaps it's the same - phenomenon for some time.

I have open project (scenario 1) with assembly made up of many parts (linear analysis). I was allocate the parts of the group and stored in the Selection Groups of TreeView section for convenience. Simulation run properly. Now, I copy the scenario to the new one. There, I changed the attributes of a part or the whole group, such as visibly, isolate, supres... Than I remeshed parts of an Assembly when needed with cheked, or once I run the Simulation. It was all right for the time.

For some moment (this same version 2017), after the remesh or simulation is run, list of Selection Groups in the current scenario is cleared. It is completely empty!!! Why do I suddenly part of the group again for each copied scenario? I have tried various methods of recovering this list to second scenario - to no avail.

I have the impression that the problem appeared after the June 2017 update ASM.

BTW.

Using Selection Groups section created files like project_name.group###.xlg" in the directory of .fem file. There is no in-line help information. Something about this?

Regards

Malenki
