problems with mecanical simulation

Hi Autodesk Family,

My name is Fernando Zuñiga, i have some problems , i just bought a new laptop and download mecanical simulation, because in my office work with Autodesk Simulation Multiphysicis 2013.

the thing is, when i try to open a Solid Works file, the sofware show me a grong massage, i like to somebody help me to fix it. because is really important to me, my work depend on it

What is the exact version of Solidworks you used to create the CAD file?

Autodesk Simulation Multiphysics 2013 is a 3 year old software by now. It can not open SWX files created past a certain point in time 🙂

Please refer to the help document for its limits wrt opening SWX file versions.

As a work around, you can export your CAD files as "*.step" and open the STEP file in your Autodesk Simulation Multiphysics 2013.

Hi Sualp, the thing is, in my job work with SolidWorks (2012-2013), and in my home i work with Solid Works (2014-2015).

so just tell me please what i have to do....because when i try to open a SW file, it show me, like it just i start to install the software for the first time (look the file attached).

Can you e-mail me the SWX file

I will test using Simulation Mechanical 2016.
If it works, I will recommend that you upgrade to SimMech 2016 🙂

Hi, sualp, i send you the S.W. file, i wanna tell you something about it, when i try to open in multiphysics environment the file works, the problem is when i try to poen the file in Simulation Mechanical.

the name of the file is (ensamblaje 3), i couldn´t open it in S.M. 2015, i thought the file was wrong so i try to open sometring less complex so i draw a bolt, but without success.

i dont´n know what i have to do??

I can perform a "File: Open" and open this SWX file using Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2016 and mesh it without any issues

I recommend that you upgrade to Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2016
