@tolgay.hickiran I'll let Jon weigh in here but I just had that same conversation at work. Of course at the time I couldn't get the link to work but I did copy/paste part of your answer (see underlined parts)...

I can tell you that the "grace period" works with refreshing because that's how I'm having to implement our C360 is a link is constantly being updated that has the part info from a different program and if you click the link it opens the embedded viewer in that software. If the number changes the page is closed and you have to click the link to get the new viewer... but it only uses one credit if you open them in close succession. (I don't know how close they have to be to count as one)

Edit: Found the link finally. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/configurator-360/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/ENU/Config360/files/GUID-2294961E-AC41-4F7D-BC38-AA8CA367DC2A-htm.html?st=Subscription%20and%20Session%20Information

Subscription and Session Information

There are two subscription options for Configurator 360:

Standard: Designed for small to medium businesses, this option provides 3,000 sessions for a 12-month subscription. When you open a design, a session begins. When you use up your allotment, you must purchase another subscription. You can set up one Configurator 360 Administrator to publish and edit designs.

Unlimited: Designed for large businesses, this option provides unlimited sessions for a 12-month subscription. You can set up multiple administrators to, for example, publish and edit designs for multiple product lines.

What is a Session?

When an end user opens a design a session begins and your session allotment goes down by one. A user's activities within a session, such as configuring a design, downloading various formats, or requesting a quote, do not affect usage. There is no limit to design size or complexity and no limit to the session duration. If you sign in as an administrator, you can view and configure your own designs and complete all other necessary administrator functions without impacting your allotment.

A session ends when you:

Open another design, thus starting a new session

Close the browser tab or window

Are inactive in the session for 30 consecutive minutes while the design is still showing. A warning displays after 10 minutes of inactivity (you can view other web pages while the design is active).

Navigate away from the design and go to another web page

Sign out or sign in as a different user

These rules also apply when using embedded viewers in your own website (using the Javascript API).

Session Grace Period

If you return to the same design within a short grace period, the same session continues automatically. A grace period applies if you use the Back, Forward, and Refresh buttons on the browser, switch between the Product Catalog and the same design, or accidentally use the wrong browser tab to navigate somewhere else.

Browser Considerations

Sessions from each browser (Internet Explorer (IE), Firefox, Chrome) are counted independently. Generally, only one session per browser is allowed at a given time. You cannot run multiple Configurator 360 sessions in multiple tabs or windows of the same browser. However, Internet Explorer 11 has a New Session function that allows multiple Configurator 360 sessions from Internet Explorer. In that case, each Configurator 360 session within IE is counted independently.

Usage Limits

Session allotments are good for one year, which is the duration of your Configurator 360 subscription. If you have a Standard subscription and you use up your allotment of sessions, users cannot open your designs; you must purchase one or more additional subscriptions to increase your allotment. With an Unlimited subscription, you should not encounter an allotment issue. In the unlikely event you receive a warning that your allotment is getting low, please contact configurator360.support@autodesk.com. For both types of subscriptions, the allotment is reset when the subscription is renewed at the subscription end-date. You must renew (or auto-renew) your subscription before it expires.

Purchasing multiple Standard subscriptions on the same Autodesk contract combines the subscription allotments. This is useful if you find that the allotment from a single Standard subscription is not quite enough.

Trial accounts have an unlimited allotment. At the end of your 30-day trial, you can request an extension or begin a paid subscription.

Consult your Autodesk salesperson or reseller to find out the latest information about the exact allotment values.

Note: Unused sessions expire at the end of a subscription.

Managing session usage

Administrative users on the account receive an email warning when the number of remaining sessions in your allotment is getting low. The administrator can set the thresholds for receiving these alerts on the Usage Limits tab in Options.

When the allotment is empty, an error message displays and users cannot run a configuration session to view designs. Administrators, however, can still continue to perform all functions.

To view your allotment balance, click Usage Limits on the Options tab. This feature is not available for trial accounts.

To help manage session usage, you can set the number of maximum sessions used per day (a rolling 24-hour period). Once your daily limit is reached, an end user receives the message Too many requests have been made. Please try again later. Note that attempts to sign in do not count against your session allotment.

Specifications and limitations

Autodesk reserves the right to change these specifications at any time.

According to the Configurator 360 Terms of Service, Autodesk reserves the right to enforce more limitations to prevent abuse.

Hello @Jon.Balgley ,

This question is i think rather to you, i don't know if normal users could answer it. Lets say we are in a situation where the end customer is refreshing the page which uses C360 viewer. Does that remove a credit from the subscription or is there a session mechanism where lets say for 1 hour the same IP can hit the server with the same credit.

Also another situation,

The end customers wants to check 5 different models. If s/he checks all the models from the browser, does that remove 5 credits or just 1 credit?

Okay @clutsa i got the idea now.

We kinda need to get in touch and learn the unlimited subscription fees because sometimes it is hard to offer the clients standard vs unlimited, or do work in forge even.

I will create a comparison table C360 subs vs Unlimited vs Forge Inventor API eventually, because it will be ultimately used for service providers like us. Maybe i could create an AKN post about it.

I think you've found the answers, but for the record:

* If you have one user accessing one design, and continuously interacting with it (not idle), he/she can use it "forever" (within reason -- hours, not days or weeks) and you are only charged for one session.

* If a user opens 5 different designs sequentially, you are charged for 5 sessions.

* If a user opens one design, and changes a parameter 5 times (even if the model changes substantially), you are charged for 1 session.

"A user" = non-admin user (i.e., not yourself). Admin-user access is free (assuming you're signed in).
