Using springs with Simulation Composite Analysis

Hello!

I am a new user of Autodesk Simulation Composite Analysis, so I followed the Tutorials available. I am trying to reproduce the performance of a flow+pack+warp analysis (Moldflow) in Abaqus. I need to apply springs (connected to the ground) on my specimen. However, after following the Tutorial 1 (Creating an Abaqus input to use in ASCA), the results were none (although the analysis ran perfectly and was sucessfully completed. Im obtaining no deformation results for instance, everything is at 0.

The "Monitor" is showing me this warning message "Output variable sdv has no components in this analysis for element type spring1"

What can I do to solve the problem?

To utilize the fiber orientation and residual strain mapping capabilities provided by Autodesk Simulation Composite Analysis, you will need to utilize the Advanced Material Exchange interface. This tutorial will be a more appropriate guide for you specific simulation:

Thanks for the help providded! I was trying to install the 2015.1 version of ASCA, but the product key of the 2015 version didnt work. How can I find the product key?

Hi Dan!

As a student Autodesk provided me two seats for ASCA (one for 2015 and one for 2014). In Autodesk Subscription website I chose the "English, Japanese..." version of the 2015 ASCA to download (rather than just the "English" one.

The Education Community has the 2014 and 2015 downloads of the Autodesk Simulation Composite Analysis software, not the 2015.1 version.

You have 3 options:

You can request access to the 2015.1 version using the support options for the Education Community: http://www.autodesk.com/education/support#

The 2016 release will be added to the Education Community after the 2016 commercial release (late spring). Reach out to the Education Community support team for more details: http://www.autodesk.com/education/support#

You can purchase the 2015.1 commercial version for immediate access: http://www.autodesk.com/products/composite-analysis/buy
