Hi Simanto,

At this time, Simulation Composite Analysis will integrate with Abaqus, ANSYS, and MSC Nastran.

You are correct, Simulation Composite Design can be used as a preliminary design tool, exploring different design scenarios for your composite structure and performing quick calculations based on CLT and Micromechanics. You are able to export material properties to Simulation Mechanical from Composite Design, but at this time, the Composite Analysis solving capabilities are not operable with Simulation Mechanical.

If this is something you would like to see moving forward, please post an idea to the Composite Analysis Idea Station.

Thanks

ML

Hi!

I'm new to Simulation Composite Analysis. I've installed Composite Analysis software. Desktop shortcuts are asking for ANSYS and ABAQUS!

Can't i use Simulation Composite Analysis as an add-on for Simulation Mechanical? Why would it be necessary for me to use this with ANSYS?

Sorry for my ignorance but i just simply didn't get it! As far as i can understand that composite design is used to design composite and then with that design we can analyze the composite using simulation composite analysis.

Could you please tell me the actual simple story here?

thanks in advance!

Hi Simanto,

In addition to what Mike spoke of I wanted to mention Autodesk Simulation Composite Design is a standalone product not requiring any additional products. It does contain some output functionality for creating material files for use in other platforms including that of Simulation Mechanical.

Here is a great video our support team made that includes some of the cross-platform functionality.

Keep the questions coming. We are glad to hear from you!

Best Regards,

Dean
