It's funny how the outside and inside of the cars don't always match in our expectations. lol

I ended up with a sedan, a Ford Fusion. He fit fine and the features and price were right.

BUT, I gotta say... after having driven SUVs for the past 16 years... it SUCKS trying to get out of the car. I'm like grabbing the door and the roof and hoisting myself up. lol. When you're in the car, it's great... but, man, getting out afterward is a pain in the buttocks.

I feel naked, stressed and somewhat lost and free without it.

It's a good 1.5 hr round trip to go home and get it, so it's staying put.

My gf will be upset that I'm not replying to her texts all day...all the calls will go to voicemail.

I've become too dependent on it and like when I finally killed my Facebook page, it feels great not having it tethered to me.

The only issue is it's about the only way my kids can get hold of me. But they know where to call if it's an emergency.

I'm liking this new freedom.

lol, I do somewhat fondly remember the days when I could forget my phone at home or work and be like 'meh'.

Not happening these days. Enjoy the quiet.

Yep, I recall those days as well.

But in this case, Murphy strikes again, the ONE time I forget my phone at home and my daughter's car brakes down, leaving her stranded on the side of the road. She was texting and calling me for advice.

Oh no! ~facepalm~ Murphy's law indeed.

I had a fun one recently. I was returning a leased car, but, they were spotty on what day I was supposed to turn it in.

I didn't bother buying another car just yet, because I was just going to wait until the last possible minute.

They swung by for it on a Saturday afternoon.

Of a holiday weekend.

So, my dealership was closed until the following Tuesday. ~FACEPALM~

Fine, I'll get a rental.

All the local places were closed already.

A neighbor gave me a ride to an adjacent county with a car rental place open for another 20 minutes... lol. Whew. Managed to rent some wheels for a week while the boy and I did our car shopping (little punk is 6'2", so the first couple cars and small SUVs I'd had my eye on... couldn't get because he literally could not fit behind the wheel).

Try a Mini Cooper. I kid you not. I had one years ago and my boss at the time, who's easily 6'7", took it for a drive. No one, including myself ever thought he'd fit in, but he did without much issue.
