3D Printer selection

Hello everyone,
I have agreed to teach high school students on an evening school course in 3D construction. We are short of skilled engineers in Denmark, and the purpose of the course is to make high school students interested in choosing a technical line, when they go on to university education.

I would like to give the students the opportunity to make a physical model of the subject they choose to construct and believe that it will increase the motivation of the students.
I have received a budget of 1000$ for the purchase of a printer. Can anyone suggest a good, reasonably accurate printer for the purpose?
Optionally also come up with a suggestion for software that can convert and post-process DWG files to suitable print formats. (Preferably free, or at a reasonable price)

$1000 doesn't buy much today in the yea2026, but the good news is most will process DXF files so whatever you use to crate DWG files already has that built in.

Do you have access to a local major industry that could possibly "donate" such a device to your school?

We are not allowed to accept direct donations, but have to settle what school management is offering.

We have received an offer of an Anycubic Kobra S1 Max Combo that is below the budget.
Does anyone have some experience with that model? We would get it with a whole box of filament.
