Oh yes- let´s watch AI turn this into a "Transformers" movie machine. If you need a masters degree with that- a Chat- GPT written thesi offers as much as a C+ at Stuttgart (Germany) University. Just the right people to work with. They really deliver and get what they say. Also apparent errors are found reliably too. And they´re faster. Because if it´s on paper, it must not be in my head. A con sadly is that there is no situational awareness.

Hi all,

I am working through a concept and would really appreciate input from people who use CAD regularly.

In my own work developing a mechanical design, I have found that the slowest part of the process is going from hand sketches and notes into a clean CAD model, especially when making revisions later without breaking things.

The idea I am exploring is a system where you could upload a hand sketch with dimensions and notes, describe what you want in plain language, and have the system generate a structured, parametric CAD model.

For example:

Sketch a platform with labeled dimensions
Say "divide into 30 segments"
Later say "change to 24 segments and widen the platform"

The system would update the model while preserving relationships and constraints, similar to a traditional parametric workflow.

My question is:

From your experience, would something like this actually be useful in your workflow?

And what part of this would be the hardest to make reliable in a real CAD environment?

I am especially interested in practical feedback from people who deal with real models and revisions on a daily basis.

Thanks in advance. I really appreciate any insight
