topic Flange feedback in Fusion 360 Preview Functionality

Hey all - I'm looking for feedback on a few features of the Flange command. For this example, you are creating a flange with Height = 45 mm and Angle = 120 deg.

In this image, if you wanted the new flange on the opposite side of the base flange, would you prefer to have a flip option or enter a negative value? Don't be greedy and say 'both' I'm trying to gauge the primary action.

Next, if you did flip the height (with a negative value or flip button) would you expect (A) or (B) below? In (A), the flange is mirrored to the other side of the base. In (B), the flange is kept in the same plane and is created in the opposite direction.

Looking forward to the feedback.

Flip option, I don't like using negative numbers in CAD.

As for the second part I would expect option A to happen.

1. The flip vs negative should be consistent with other features, such as extrude and push/pull.

2. Adding a negative sign to a distance is the same as rotating 180. Flipping the height should give B. Flipping the angle should give A.

I vote no negatives, as in bending there is only 0°=180° (I'm our press brake programmer).

Edit: I should note that in the first example image that is a 135° and not 45°, at least on a brake.

I tried a rudimentary part today and wow! That was fun! I then exported as a STEP and IGES files. The former our brake software (Metacam) wasn't real happy with but I believe this is due more to the fact that we only ever translate SW files, but the IGES loaded just fine. Will definitely be playing with it more.

My two cents is that flip might be more intuitive since it, in my head, implies switching edges and direction. While negative to me implies a negative direction away from the selected edge, which might get confused with including or excluding material thickness.

I personally prefer flip or reverse as the wording for this. But putting a negative number could easily force a flip and then take the absolute value as the parameter.
