Do you want to cut to full depth on all of the pockets in one go and then do a finishing pass?

hello

I'm pretty new to cad / cam. And i have trouble creating a 2d pocket with a finishing pass. The problem is that I do not manage to create one or more 2d pockets that manage to mill the different depths. to complicate matters further I want ruffing to be climb milling and finishing I want convetional. to get a nice surface on foam and at the same time avoid long threads getting stuck in the 3,175mm endmill. It's the two left rows I do not succeed with, where the spanners are standing on it's side.

Do you guys have a guide/tips for how to make this possible in 2d, or do i have to make it 3d?

I find it a lot easier to do the finish as a second op all you have to do is duplicate the roughing toolpath and change the settings you want to be different or do a derived op if a different toolpath is needed, these are in the right-click menu on a toolpath.

Cutting different height levels can be hit and miss some time with 2D ops, I just do a 3D op as this is model aware, and 2D ops have to be made to go where you want them to cut as they are not model aware.

Is there a way to not machine the whole part at every depth level of the model? as you can se in the model i attached there is a differnt depth on every tool slot. Hope you understand what i mean.

the endmill i am using only have 20mm flute length so on some places i have to do it in two cuts. but yes one go and then finishing, but not the bottom only the sides. The bottom does not look good after a small finish, due to soft foam material.
