Unfortunately it will not help.

The path for the 2D pocket is selected correctly and I have marked all the models in the main setup as well.

Still for some reason the machine runs with tool down over the second model

JJ

Hello,

I'm using 2D pocket strategy and have some issue when the tool moves between the passes.

see the picture... The tool stays on the manufacturing level and goes over another model - and of course destroys it.

My question is, how this is possible. I have defined in the setup, where my models are.

Even there is keep tool down enabled for the strategy it should count with other models and move around them or am I wrong ?

Thanks for any ideas what could be wrong.

JJ

It does jump around more even with the "Keep Tool Down" but it doesn`t violate the other model.

It appears that if you want the "Multiple Depths" then you can`t have the "Keep Tool Down", it works at a single depth with the "Keep Tool Down" so looks like you will have to turn the "Keep Tool Down" off

Looks like a "Bug" to me but maybe it is intended to work like this, maybe Seth @seth.madore can get some information from the Developers ??

Stay Safe

Regards

Rob

The worst thing is it even doesn't stop on collision in the simulation.

If I change the second body to a fixture, than it stops on collision and I can investigate,

But here... no stop at all, just damaged part / tool if I would be deeper...

Definitely something wrong...

JJ

It wouldn't stop on collision from the picture I saw (sorry if I missed something). The move is a feed move (link move) and not a rapid move, therefore there is no collision per say with the part. When you changed it to fixture, it shows collision because even with feed, you are not "allowed" to machine a fixture off.

Also, it violates the 2nd model because this is 2d machining, and not model aware. It machines what you select with complete disregard to what's around what you selected. It is intended behavior (as far as a know). If you want it to automatically avoid obstacles you need to use 3d operations.
