hi gurus out there i am trying to get my pre ngc VF4 haas to simultaneously Machine a part which is basically just a drill head. The problem i am having is the tool path seem to not be anything like the path i have generated in fusion 360 instead of rotating the a axis and feeding along the X axis the program seems to move across the Y axis while moving in the Z axis . I have hopefully attached the right screenshots and fusion 360 export so you can see the paths im trying to create

cheers

Cory

I am not positive but I think for the simultaneous paths your work origin has to be at the center of your rotation.

by center of rotation do you mean on the center line? and the origin do you mean the machine origin not the sketch origin? as i have to have the machine origin at that position or my probe can not see its reader to set the xyz positions at the face of the job. i may have to set the machine postion with out the probe if that is the case.

cheers

cory

You have to have the center of rotation set unless you have dynamic offsets or any of the other fancy setup positioning stuff.

This is why it was moving in the Y-axis and not just doing A, Z and X-axis move.

Yes center of rotation (X axis ) would have to be the center of rotation for the platter. Origin meaning for the setup in the CAM environment. You can have the actual point anywhere along the X axis whether it is the top of the part or the face of the platter.

On the actual machine I believe you already have these coordinates in the controls some where for at least Y and Z You would only probing for the X offset I believe.
