Tool Path Around a Diameter ?

Hello,

New to fusion 360 so I apologize if I should understand how to solve this problem.

I'm wondering how I wrap the tool around the diameter at the front of this part?

The tool does follow the complete shape of the part the first time around but does not follow that path the rest of the way down.

I've included the f3d file and an image of what I'm referring to.

On my slower machine (bridgeport explorer II) my max speed is 4000rpm. Is a machine limited when doing adaptive clearing with lower feed rates?

Thank you for the help.

Hi @charlie.buscher

Thanks for posting! First off, while the spindle limit on your Bridgeport may result in slower feedrates, you can certainly still run adaptive clearing on it. I would consider setting up comparable Adaptive and Pocket toolpaths and comparing the machining times - this should help determine which will work better for your needs. With adaptive, the real advantages come in when you can cut at full tool flute length depths.

The Adaptive toolpath in your file is leaving out the lower sections because of the three different selections in the toolpath. There are a number of ways to fix this - I've walked through some in the screencast below.

As you continue working with Fusion 360, the resources below may be helpful:
