I'm trying to setup some extermal thread milling, I've selected the root of the thread as the geometry. But when I come to running the simulation, it's almost as if it's cutting half a pitch out, it's not cutting in exactly the same position as what's on the model. Is there any way to change this or is there a setting i'm not seeing?

Cheers

The thread definition that is put in place by the modeling environment has little impact on the threadmilling operation in the CAM environment.

There is little need to define a modeled thread. Just model a shaft for OD, or a hole for ID. Select that and apply "Pitch Diameter Offset"

As an aside, modeling a thread does take a fair amount of computer resources. Unless you actually need it for assembly and simulation, I'd suggest going with a cosmetic thread (for display purposes) or just keep it simple shaft/thread

Yep that looks much better! Looked up what the dimensions are for m10x1, minor diameter being 8.773, difference from 10mm is 1.227mm, thread looks nice now!
