Lathe Profile Direction

In the CAM environment of Fusion, I cannot understand why the Profile>Mode & Direction>Direction will not allow me to turn a profile from outside to inside. Both the other options work.

Plunging into the center can damage the tool due to the back side (non-cutting side) of the tool rubbing against the stock past the center line of rotation. This means to use this, I will always have to bore out the center material first with a tool that is large enough for the “turning general” tool to do its job. This won’t work for all situations and will end up causing me a headache down the line.

I messed around and found that it has something to do with the tool orientation or selection. When I select the general turning tool in the standard direction, it works fine. I took the general turning tool and turned it 90 degrees. I need to use wither this or a boring tool but it flat out won't accept the boring tool.

It also started complaining that I had 0 flutes with the boring tool which makes no sense cause there are no flutes on a turning tool.
