I'm no guru, but I opened you file and I'm not sure if that is the area you are trying to pocket, is that it ?

I noticed that both 2D adaptive and 2D pocket are failing in creating a good toolpath (it mills through the model) but the 2D Contour operation seems to make an usable toolpath, if you need to mill quick a part, and can't wait for an answer from the guru's around here, maybe you can make a pocket with a STOCK TO LEAVE value to avoid milling through the material, and than make an 2D CONTOUR operation to finish the internal edge

Good luck!

Hello. I was wondering if one the gurus would be able to analyze this and teach a thing or two please.

So i have been trying to figure out how to pocket out this model. For some odd ( to me ) reason when selecting a contour ( chain ) to pocket out it does this completely odd path. almost like this is not a solid body. i tried many ways. open and closed

Thank for your suggestions, interestingly enough this model has two of this parts. Second one is not a mirror. It was also extruded from sketch that was copied and paste into a new sketch. That second part pockets the path perfectly.
