Hi,

Thanks for letting us know.

A quick suggestion for editing the default "chain" you selected is click the selected chain again, then you will enter the "Edit" mode for the selected chain and there is a mini-tool-bar you can use to modify the existing chain. For more information about the chain selectiong, please refer to the link https://camforum.autodesk.com/index.php?topic=5938.msg23015#msg23015.

Issues with chamfers

So I have been trying for a bit now to get the CAM to chamfer an edge. The problem is that there is 2 interuptions in one chamfer and a second chamfer that isn't as pronounced (same top height, the cutter just doesn't go into the material as deep, this chamfer is also interupted). So when I go to select the "chain" the geometry it selects ends up chaining together a bunch of geometry that I don't want chamfered and actually does not have a chamfer done to it in the model. It is getting really annoying. I can't seem to figure out how to constrain the machining to the specific geometry that I want. As of right now, I could have just put a 2D DXF in my $150 CAM progam and be machining this by now. Kind of wishing I would have just done that and if I can't clear this up in the next hour or so, I am going to do just that. There were also some other issues with this model that the CAM portion wasn't Jiving with and I had to make some 2D sketches to get it to machine the outside contours the way I wanted. Kind of frustrated right now. The chamfer tool in the Model portion worked great, but trying to get the CAM part to recognize it properly is annoying the crap out of me. On a side note, the model and sketches were done pre-update, I updated this morning and have been trying to get this through CAM on the post updated F360. This is also being done from a little bit older Mac with Yosemite 10.10.3. Any help would be much appreciated.

It would also help if we could see your part. can you export it to a .f3d file and either attach it here or send it to cam.support@autodesk.com so we can see what the issues are?

I think I got it all sorted out. Still stumbling my way through the CAM a bit but getting the hang of it. That previous post helped a bunch. Just machined and am holding a nearly complete part right now. Have one more op to run. Just got done programming it so I can run it tomorrow. Things are running a lot more smoothly now that I am getting my feet under me with the CAM.
