you can use sketch in most ops, and the bottom plane as well to set the depth, there is a lot of little tricks you can do

I know Fusion will not do trochoidal milling because adaptive clearing is the latest greatest thing, but for what I'm looking for it is not.

I'm trying to cut a shape out of a 1/4" deep sheet of aluminum using a 1/16" bit. I need some way to widen my toolpath. I don't want to use adaptive clearing, because it will be wasting too much stock that I can use later.

What can I do?

If you are wanting to just cut it out you could try doing a 2d contour with a number of steps.

what you wont to do then is do a offset sketch out from the model say cutter diameter + 1/2 cutter diameter again have the sketch at the top of the part and leave it turned on.

then when you select the toolpath you select the contour and the sketch and have the toolpath stay inside the line then the Adaptive will cut between the contour and the line.

if you wont a screen cast for this can you post your model it will make it easier to show you that way

Awesome! This is perfect! I did NOT know you could use a sketch as part of a CAM! Thanks much!
Takes FOREVER to generate a toolpath though! WOW, haha

I can't seem to get the same action to work here http://a360.co/2gqu0mH

It just wants to face the stock to the top of the model then it quits. Any thoughts?

You have nothing set to cut.

The reasion is stock to leave is set to .5 and you have not set the bottom height to selection top faces with top height a tickle above the top face.

If you take stock to leave off, set the bottom height to selected, and for top height set the top height to 0.001 it works.

Also you can faces it by selecting the sketch and setting the tool and that's all.
