Thanks, yes that is working, it must be only a little tweaked with the diameter settings, as the diameter of the side of the tool is bigger (where the 45 degree is).

Hi,

i wanted to chamfer a large chamfer and wanted to try to do it with a face mill with 45 degree cutters (as it has 4 cutters and its 63mm in diameter i though it could be better as the 8mm Chamfer mill. But Fusion wont generate a tool path. I tryed with Tappered Mill and it also wont generate... Any sugestions?

Thanks.

Nejc

I would create this as a very large and squat chamfer mill.

I am creating a 3/8" chamfer and using a large squat face mill, as recommended previously.
I know the tool does not have a large enough cutting face to make it in one pass but will need probably 2 or three to get the full depth in both axes.
When I select the path and make my settings, I get a message that the defined chamfer is too large for the tool I have defined.
Now, I am new to Fusion 360 so could use suggestions.
Thanks

You will need to setup a tool as a taper endmill

Then in 2D Contour you can do multiple depths of cut and the tool will step down the chamfered face

example attached, you will need to define the tool to match the dimensions of the one you have

Thanks,
I was headed that direction with the 2D Contour and am able to use it with both of the tools.
I was struggling with the 2D Chamfer and just to accept that I wasn't going to be able to make it work.
I appreciate the quick response. It was a great confirmation that I was on the right track.
