I'm not sure I understand the question. When I open the file I can select the mesh as a body in the setup, and I can select a face to set the tool orientation.

I have a model that includes an imported STL:

http://a360.co/1NlhgvP

The STL was a watertight solid when I imported it (fixed it up in Meshmixer) and I am trying to set it up for milling out of foam on my 5 axis machine.

For some reason I cannot select the mesh as an object to machine... Is there something I need to do to be able to do this? Is a mesh not something that I can mill?

Well I downloaded your file and I think the issue is that your mesh is still in excess of 75k, which means it won't convert to BRep or T-spline body. Has to be under 10k. One thing you could try is slicing it and bringing it in in sections and then converting and assembling the final body using Joints.

The conversion section is in the Patch workspace under Modify > Mesh > Mesh to BRep.

Ok, I had this working just a few days ago, but now I tried it again (with the same exact files) and the feature seems to now be missing... Did something happen with the big update you guys just did?
