Hi,

I have a CNC router setup with a welding head so I can weld sheets of plastic together. I typically use closed loop, trace toolpaths, but I sometimes find it leaves a small gap at the beginning/end where end meets back up with the beginning of the toolpath (imagine a circular trace).

Ideally I'd like to add 1/4" of overlap but can't find a consistent way to do it using the free version of Fusion. Using the circle example, I'll add a 1/4" long arc with the same diameter as the circle, select "Keep Tool Down", and select both paths but Fusion will almost always find an order of operations that doesn't work.

Hopefully that makes some sense, any pointers?

Hi @ldavis89

You can do this in 2d Contour in the Passes page.

We use this option on the mill side to avoid witness marks where the tool starts and stops in a closed contour.

Hope this works for you.

Nice, looks like that works! Now I just need to figure the easiest way to get the tool to follow the sketch instead of offset . . but that should be easy enough. Thanks again!
