Disclaimer: Ive only been working with Fusion 360 for about a month. If I understood you correctly, you are wondering about how to set dimensions? You can set dimensions when in Design mode > Create. Whenever you create something, the dimension is something you determine and adjust. Manufacture mode operates as the CAM software. You can set just about any dimension you want once you understand what is that you want to do. Download the program and start playing. That is the only way you will learn, and It will become more clear/fun.

I want to work with a cnc router. doing my research I needed a cad/cam software, so I chose Fusion 360. I have gone through the tutorials about what and how to make what I want to make, I noticed that only 1 or 2 dimensions in the whole part. Does Fusion 360 Extrapolate the rest of the dimensions? Some of the tutorials had no dimensions at all. How does that work for the cam side.

Thankyou for your reply. That's not quite what I was asking. Are these videos showing you the ease of modeling a part, but leaving out the dimensioning step. Or will the cam side be able to work with little or no dimensions at all?

You dimension that part as part of the modeling process and it is modeled 1:1 so there is no scaling between the 2 workspaces. If you model something 2 inches that will be how big it is in manufacturing workspace.

Thank you both for your replies. I didn't notice that dimensions were being assigned in the modeling side because the tutorials moved quickly and I was focused how they did what they did. You are both correct, dimensions are being assigned and I need to play in the system to get used to it. Now I think I need to take a tutorial on how to use the forum better.

One of the big changes that many are not used to when working in Fusion is that it is a parametric software. At least the way I was taught was that you draw the shape as a whole before dimensioning/constraining it rather than like a typical CAD software many are expecting where they would draw lines or arcs at the exact dimension wanted before drawing the next line/arc.
