in WCS I left it on "nothing" because my drawing is set in a Z position that matches the table on my machine, ive been doing this for months and never had an issue.

I think you've missed my point so I will try to be more specific:

Right click on the scallop process called "[T1] Scallop2(3)" and choose "Edit" and then go to "Geometry".

I have chosen my Z and I have choose my X.

If you look on the Z surface I have chosen, the Z orients correctly just how I want it to tilt my table.

If you look on the X surface I have chosen, the X orients incorrectly because instead of moving the X arrow away from the surface I picked, it moves the Y axis to the side.

Imagine the CNC table in front of you. I want the Z axis pointing up as I have chosen (spindle axis up and down), I want the Y axis pointing forward (my table A axis have tilted 90degrees towards me with the part). I want the X axis up a bit on the surface I have chosen (C axis rotates a bit clockwise).

On [T1] Scallop2(3) I have my Z axis tiltet the way I want, but when I tilt the X axis, it for some reason moves the Y axis to the side instead of moving X axis up? (This is for a 5 axis machine with rotating table A and C)

See screenshot and .f3d file

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

I am not working with 5 axis but I think I know enough to be dangerous and I noticed you are not picking correct features on model to define tool orientation.

If I pick edge for X axis it aligns itself with model, also in setup you left Z axis undefined,.... "Nothing", could be source of other problems later.

I've just had a look at this but I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do. Normally I would select a face for the Z axis and an edge for the X.

I think it is move Y because it is not possible to position the WCS how you are saying? Do you want the X axis to be normal to the surface in Scallop2(3) (see screenshot)?

Are you sure you want the X-axis at that angle?

The Y-axis part yes that's wrong.

I think it is an imposable selection you can use turn and tilt if you have it to set the X at that angle but Z moves then it is completely wrong and Y is correct.

I have the extension I tried it without it it will not work, if you have a lot of this sort of thing it is worth it to get the extension I only program this sort of thing and it pays off.

Tell that to my boss haha.

I will consider this topic solved because it seems like the solution is to have the extension.

I fixed the issue by using one of our longer Ø25mm ball nose mills so I dont have to tilt the table to avoid crash into holder.

@Anonymous

It should be possible without the extension. Either by drawing a sketch or being selecting in a different way.

When you select two faces for X and Z you will get a conflict. Ideally you need to select a face then an edge.

I got the following by selecting the face for the X-axis (circled in red) and then for the Z axis I selected that edge as highlighted by Fusion. Is this what you are after? This doesn't require the extension.
