What happens to Subscription licenses when Autodesk goes bankrupt?

Subject says it all I guess.

Will all your files be locked behind a glass door? I mean you know where they are, nobody can steal them, but you just don’t have the key(Software) to open it.

I can only speak for the AutoCAD DWG format. There are already programs that will read and write that format. So I even if you postulate Autodesk going away. You'd just have to switch to one of those other programs. I could also see a lot of others rushing in to fill the gap.

Besides. If anything like that did happen. They'd probably be classed as "too big to fail" and the government would bail them out.

For the other formats it's not as easy. Especially the new CAM functionality has a problem with competitor compatibility.

That the US government will bail the company out in such a way that the rest of the world will be able to continue without a kick up is not really something we can take a decision on.

What files? Your DWG files? Easy, don't store your DWG files in the cloud.
And... bankrupt? They are FAR from that.

I know they are far from that now, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. And AutoDesk is a lot more then 2D DWG files.
