Solved it by...

"I did just the opposite of hideselect. I did ISOLATESELECTEDINVP and selected all.
Now it turned everything on and hid what was not selected. Since I selected ALL by entering ALL on the command line everything stayed on.
I view this as a trick of the program"

http://www.xtracad.com/forum/index.php/topic,9340.15.html?PHPSESSID=7itie690gu9fn39q2d9vf5ict1

I take No credit for the above - I found the solution on another Forum.

Thankfully it works a treat.

I have used the Fabrication CADmep Tool "Hide Selected Objects" to hide some non FAB CADmep items in paper space, such as tect and some lines. When I have tried to "Unhide" them, they will not re-appear.

Any suggestions for getting them back?

I have tried SHOWALL and also tried using the AutoCAD commands to "End Object Isolation" to no avail.

Please Help

That isn't really a solution as much as it is a work around. What you are looking for is "showallinvp"

I developed this handly little shortcut to detect which space I am issuing the command from so I don't have to think about it....

(defun C:SA () ;Showall
  (if (= (vla-get-ActiveSpace(vla-get-activedocument(vlax-get-acad-object))) 0)
    (command "SHOWALLINVP")
    (command "SHOWALL")
    )
  )
