Creating Connectors, Setting Parameters For Use and Creating Pressure Classifications.

Good Afternoon,

I'm in the process of teaching myself CAMDuct so that I can add connector types and parameters for their use in Revit Fab Parts. I've watched the Fundamentals Videos and have the MAP CAMDuct Training Manual, but haven't been able to find the information I need. I could really use a walkthrough or an actual manual, but I'm not able to find much, so I'm hoping you fine people can point me in the right direction.

I'd like to create 2 connectors [1" flange IN (1" Flange Out is the only current option) and TDF (not the default TDC)]. I'd also like to set parameters for when different connector types are used (i.e. < 12" duct width and height = S&D, > 12" duct width and height = TDF).

I'd also like to be able to create new pressure classifications (Low, Medium and High) and specify reinforcements based on SMACNA tables.

While I'm here, I suppose I should ask about creating Unistrut trapeze hangers as well.

I know that's probably asking a lot, so I truly appreciate any information you can provide.

This is a big request.

Start with building your Connectors. Help | Connectors | Autodesk Work through the sub-categories, especially breakpoints as this is critical to building your flanges. If you already have the connectors built, then setup a new specification and assign your services to use those specifications. Help | Specifications | Autodesk. The <= is the longest side to setup < 12" duct width and height = S&D, > 12" duct width and height = TDF etc.
You can then assign your specifications to your services. The Autodesk help wasnt great for this section, hopefully this will help. Create a New Service in Fabrication CADmep Database (imaginit.com)

Hi Craig,

Thanks for your response. Since I posted this, I was able to do the following:

Figure out the flange-in issue by changing the D.Line 1 breakpoint.
As for the TDF, the allowances are the same as TDC, so just copied and renamed the connector in CAMDuct.
I haven't had time to sit down and work out the services in CAMDuct, but I think I've got what I need to move forward.
I tried to sign up for xtracad a few days ago but was rejected because I don't have a work e-mail address.
