Incompatible Fabrication Configuration

I'm trying to match shops and I get the incompatible Fabrication configuration although I have no fab parts in my REVIT file. Is there a way (other than going to purge all as that doesn't work) to complete wipe the fabrication configuration back to none? I've tried several methods to get the parts into my model that I need to no avail. Some of these methods are "binding link, converting to .maj and then importing, copy and pasting, creating a group, trying to create a family, etc...."

Let me make sure I'm understanding you correctly. You at one point had a configuration loaded into a Revit file. You now want to load a new one but it wont let you as it thinks one is loaded already? If this is the case you need to make sure there is no fabrication items place in your revit file. Once that is complete unload the services from the old configuration. Now select your new configuration and add the services.

I tried that already. I went and made sure that there were 0 fab parts, went into the configuration menu and double-checked any loaded configurations and it was blank "HOWEVER", it has a greyed out fab configuration at the top shown like a 'last used' configuration that it won't let you erase. (A blank drawing shows this as 'none'). So even though there is no configuration loaded in your browser, it still 'thinks' that one is loaded and it won't let you bring in any new fab items. There has got to be a way to clear that item out, but we can't find one.

So once you have ever brought any items in it puts this ghost configuration into your file even if the items are erased, purged, families purged, etc... Your configuration will never reset to 'none'.

Can you attach a screen shot and/or the file you are having issues with. I have never seen or had issues removing configurations.

Did you ever get this figured out? I am having the same problem. I cannot copy/paste from one model to the other because the target model has an incompatible database configuration. Even though everything, I mean every thing has been deleted, purged and audited.

Open up CADMep. Type REFRESHALLBTNS close CADMEP and reload your database into Revit.

Rebuilding the buttons did not help in this case. Unfortunately we had to completely rebuild the model from scratch. This was a shared model and it is possible that not all users were out when we did the update and it became corrupted some where along the line. Thanks for your help.
