Continued use causes file to grow tremendously in size. As you modify the drawing due to co-ordination issues, the file started out to be about 2500 kb, now it's 46000 kb

Hi, I have been working with Mariah @ autodesk but have not found a
solution yet. The files have even grown from 46,000 to 60,000 since we have
been collaborating. The problem lies in my computer,I believe. She had no
problems opening, switching viewports, or the other things that slows me
down. I had sent her one of the files that were giving me problems. Tried
purge, -purge regapps, do a dxfout, but could not open the dxf after
creating it. The dxf was 786,000 KB. The lagging seems to be in the
fabrication program. I have Windows 10 Pro, AMD A8-5600K APU with
Raedon(TM) HD Graphics 3.760HZ Processor, Asus A55ME motherboard, 16GB Ram,
1TB Hard drive, Firepro W4100 graphics. If this helps.
I also noticed that when Fabrication is loading, It seems to take an
exceptionally long time to get a screen, then the screen is black, in the w
autocad window, not the whole screen, then after maybe 30-45 seconds, the
flie starts to show, then several seconds later the program opens up and I
can go to work. If you come up with something please contact me, Edward

Few things to check...

Slow loading if CADmep can be due to validating service buttons. You should see a progress bar in the lower right. Hitting ESC cancels this process. Or use the Edit Configuration utility to disable the button validation.

File size can be drastically increased if the "Save with Graphics" options is enabled. This should be OFF unless there's a reason to have it enabled. This is in your Fabrication database. Setting can be found here...

Also check the ISAVEPERCENT system variable in AutoCAD. AutoCAD doesn't always save the entire DWG when you click save. It just appends to the end. ISAVEPERCENT is the % of "wasted" space that can be in a DWG before a full write is performed when saving. e.g. If you delete an object in AutoCAD, saving your drawing won't always make it smaller, it just records the deletion and appends the info to the file to increase save times on large file. I'd suggest any setting over 50 (default) is problematic.

Check your CUI Editor for any unresolved menus or partial menu's. This can slow launching and loading files w/CADmep.
