When you setup the machine in Camduct you will pick the post processor for Vicon that will create a .MP file that can be used directly on the Vicon machine. No need to open and re-nest in Vicon's software.

I create a design in Revit, export .maj fabrication files. Open them in CAMduct but i dont know what to create to open them in Vicon's Plasma Cutting Software?

I see all of my post processor options in Camduct but I dont what the file format the Vicon software needs in order to properly import it.

Thank you for any help

been working on that one myself. I Have been told Vicon has a closed off system and you can't use cam duct to run the table. I know we spoke to vicon and there was a fee for the program that would import Fab Cadmep duct into there table

I do not seem to be able to import an .MP file into the vicon machine directly. do you import the .MP file into the vicon software or by pass that. if you bypass how do you load directly to the machine

Are you running into these issues as well?

Its taken time but I've figured out what I need to do and what pretty much anyone needs to do with one of these machines.

If your a Revit user you'll need to export .maj files, open them with Camduct, export them with the Vicon Post Processor, then import them into Vicon's software via "IMPORT CNC" with the software. Vicon's machine and their software is a closed loop. Having Vicon as the very end of the line is a must. I tried everything I could to get around it and you cannot as long as you have one of their machines.

So, the flow of software goes: Revit >> Camduct >> Vicon.

If you are an AutoCAD only person than its goes AutoCAD >> Vicon.

This is because Vicon has developed a plug-in for AutoCAD, but we don't use AutoCAD anymore so it doesn't work for us.

In order to do that last step you will need to contact Vicon and have them enable that functionality. (They may or may not charge you)

This is the only way to do this. (There is different routes with things like quickpen and sysque but that's different)

If you're an employee trying to figure this out like I did and you would like more help with this you can shoot me an email at tmistretta@gamewellmech.com

we are using cam duct and a vicon table and our vicon rep says we need a material code because right now our vicon table is not recognizing materials and gauges. dose any one know what this code is ?
