Hi all,

We have installed an new coil line and want to use it to supply our plasma cutter with appropriately sized sheets. For example instead of using a standard 1500x3000mm sheet the job may only require a 1500x2250mm sheet. This is quite common if manufacturing large duct or for the last sheet in a job.

I am having trouble with the "Use Default Sheet Size" and "Allow Alt. Sizes" options. The material has been setup with a minimum size of 1500x1000mm (which is set to default) and a maximum of 1500x3000mm. Sizes in between are in increments of 50mm. When I nest the job it spits out a 1500x2400mm sheet which is only partially filled (30%) and fails to nest everything else (nothing should require over sizing in this test).

Am I doing something wrong? I have played with the oversize and nesting options to the point of exhaustion, and am beginning to think that what I want isn't really possible.

Any ideas?

I am thinking that I can just fudge the sheet length on a nest report or something using the utilized length. It would work just fine, but I'd rather do it right.

Regards,

Might be tough to resolve without some screen shots of the configs and what the nests look like.
