CAMduct 2017 Tool Default Layer / Process / Tool Name

I am attempting to assign Tool Names to MAP Layers. However, they have a mind of their own. It is impossible to get certain MAP Layers to remain set to a certain tool, they constantly switch to different tools. Am I missing something or is this a BUG?

They switch to different tools in that dialog? Or that dialog settings stick but the results don't match what's configured?

Works on my end. Which build are you on?

I'm on the latest Service Packs and tried 2017 and 2018.

2017 - Build 3.05.1303

2018 - Build 3.06.739

You can check the Build number by selecting..."Help -> About"

If it's not an issue w/Service Packs,. perhaps there's corruption in the configuration file. To test this you can try this.....

1) Exit CAMduct

2) Go to the "DATABASE"

3) Rename "LAYERS.MAP" to "LAYERS.MAP.SAVE"

4) Restart CAMduct

5) Resetup the layers,.

This will recreate the LAYERS.MAP file. See if the settings are then saved.

No luck.

It's very odd. The setting won't stick on certain tools. Some tools the setting will stay, others it switches.

This may be due to having multiple machines configured with multiple tools.

I have struggled with setting up multiple machine/tool combinations in the past.

So much so that in some instances I have resorted to having multiple separate Camduct configurations with only one machine available in each configuration, as this was the only way I could get tool selections to work correctly on each machine without conflicting defaults.
