In the 2016 version pressing the Linear Nest button does nothing and brings up no dialog. Has anybody else seen this problem or know of a fix for it?

Hi eknight

Have you set up an installed machine for Linear Nesting? The Linear Nesting is not a physical Nest like when creating NC for a cutter, it is used to optimise cut-to-length materials that are typically bought and available in standard lengths, and then cut to fit into other ductwork components, such as elbows and tees, etc. Other materials that might be cut to length in the same way include flange material, tie rods, stiffeners etc.

I have it setup and we depend on it in 2015 cam. It works in 2015 just fine but in 2016 when I select the linear nest menu item it does not even open a dialog box that shows items to linear nest.

Thanks,

Eric Knight
Arctic Sheet Metal
phone: (503) 280-5814
e-mail: eknight@arcticsheetmetal.com

Hi Eric

Did you carry out a Migration of the settings in 2015 (Using the Autodesk Migration Tool), or have you just linked to your existing 2015 Content?

Hi Eric

I have just ran a test in 2016 and you are correct, the Linear Nest under the Utilities Menu doesn't do anything.

It does however work if used in a Process.

I shall log this with the Development Team.

Regards
