OK, maybe everyone is going to think I am an idiot, but what in the Blue Hells is an "ITM"? The only thing i could find in my search that seemed even remotely related to ACAD is "Converting latitude and longitude to Israel Transverse Mercator (ITM) coordinates".

Chris

For the last week and a half I have been trying to create files and folders in my Imperial Content folder. We are trying to add items that are useable service items. I have watched tutorials until my eyes bled, what the heck there is nothing that directly addresses this issue. A lot of responses I have received over the channels is, rent the info from large databases, ok not a bad Idea. A temporary solution. Everyone assumes you know how to create a block and then convert it to an ITM & .PNG and then access it in the services. None of which is much of a success for me. So my question, where can i learn how to master this process? What systemORprogram is apt at manipulating, read/writing these files? Feel free to text or call with any suggestions, and thank you all for your time! 7203665708

Thanks,

  J

You may be having a hard time creating you content and finalizing them because you will possibly need Autodesk Fabrication or Revit. I'm not 100% confident this is true, but is what I understand.

Hi jjensen and Welcome to the Forums!

In reading your post I am not really sure what you are trying to do. It sounds to me like you are trying to create a block library, add png files so that you can use the CUI to create a custom partial menu. Is this correct?

If so, I recommend keeping your library in a separate folder and simply adding it to your Support File Path. You can even add PNG files here if you like. You do not necessarily need to put the image files into a DLL.

If I am understanding your question correctly, please update your post so that I can provide additional resources. Otherwise, let me know what else you are trying to do.

Please hit the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question.

I have the Business Suite Ultimate, so the programs are in place. The issue is deeper than that.

I recieved this resource from Autodesk's 'Schedule a call and he was just as perplexed, but gave me a resource I was unaware of:

http://help.autodesk.com/view/FABRICATION/2017/ENU/?guid=GUID-8BF4B16F-339E-4730-82FC-29B8ACB9CF74

Combing through this now. I'll definitely shoot you a Kudos though!

Really think the creation of the .png and the ITM is where I went wrong. I did a video conference with your Autodesk's "schedule a call" and they were just as perplexed. The files created in the Imperial content folder are not selectable when i go to create a new service in Fabrication.

http://help.autodesk.com/view/FABRICATION/2017/ENU/?guid=GUID-8BF4B16F-339E-4730-82FC-29B8ACB9CF74

He gave me this link so I'm seeing if I missed a step...

Can you post a video or some screenshots of what is going on? When creating new folders do it through the Folders in CAD, basically if you create additional folders in Windows they wont show up because Fabrication does not know they are there.

An ITM a file type for the Fabrication products. It contains the graphical, costing, material and other parameters needed to meet LOD 400 with MEP components. You can think of them as similar to RFA file types in Revit but more specific to the MEP trades.

In CAD at the command line type "folders" This will bring up the known folder structure for the ITM library. If you want to include a new folder, right click on the parent folder and pick New Folder, enable "Add Sub Folders Too" then click Browes, path to the folder you want to include and click "ok".
