Cool. Glad to hear detailer are not being phased out. Have you guys ever use the Revitalize files to create your detail drawings? I can't see the mechanical engineerso giving up their mechanical files easily. Supposedly you can import them into your drawing set with your shop standards. But I really don't know if they would save any time, seeing how they need to be highly modified.

It appears that Fabrication CadMep can not be seen by users that do now have the software without installing the object enabler. Is there a way to export the drawing so that it can be view by someone that only has AutoCad? Thanks.

Saving with Graphics will bloat the file size.

Size/Level/Ctext are attached to the item itself and it would be my assumption that those tags are not considered "graphical" and are not part of what is being saved.

So I guess my ultimate question for everyone here on Fabrication CadMep is, can I created a duct drawing that can be seen with AutoCad, not having to install an Object Enabler? I need the drawing to show duct objects, dimentions, elevations and alias. I can expect all the people that received my drawings to have install an object enabler to see it. A lot of people are not very cad-savvy. Their systems were set up by some one else or even by a consult company. So it's a problem expecting them to in stall OE. I have tried to use the flatten command but all the text is destroyed. But I want to thank the people who have assisted Mr on this subject. Thanks.

Thanks a lot, this works out nicely. I can send out a drawing that can be seen by anyone. If they want 3d they will just have to install the enabler. Or I was thinking if I check save graphics proxy with the 2day drawing then the 3d will be there along with all the text length, dimentions and elevations. Thanks guys.

Many people in the construction field come from the field to the office and are given a month of classes that teach basics. They know enough to get their
drawings produced, but not a lot more than that. Some are fortunate to be able to work nexe the side by side with a seasoned Cadillac user. Seems like more and more sub contractors are not making shop drawings in order to save money. Just the other day, a fire sprinkler 1/2 floors because he did not coordinate. Plus they were designed build. Do any of you guys still see electrical, plumbing, chill water and data coordinate drawings anyore? But then again, I'm doing schools. Things were a little different when I was doing high rise, museums and places like Gene tech. Do any of you still see fully coordinated drawings?

Very true. Especially for duct making roof penetrations. I just wonders how practice it would turn out in the real world. Auto desk and resellers just want to sell more stations and over exaggerate it's productivity. Interesting how they no longer sell perpetual ac licenses.
