Hi, We are using Inventor for Plant Designing. I have in the past worked with other software for that purpose, and would like to get some expert advice on how to proceed.

We have a complete machine library (build up with iLogic functions), and somehow (whoever made that descision) the origin of those is not at center(X)/center(Y)/ground-plane(Z) of the equipment. So I would assume modifying those to be where the correct origin should be, would be a massive job?

So I started reading about what options using the UCS could provide, maybe this would be the right thing to use?

Can I place a part in assembly using coordinates with respect to part UCS and assembly origin, by using iLogic?

Can the position of the UCS (XYZ) be shown in the Bill Of Materials?

Best regards,

Daniel Bruun
