If you have some time, can you have a look at this issue?

This does not seem like the proper behavior to me, and is only something I've seen a couple of times recently, which suggests that this might be an issue that was recently introduced.

There is a zip file data set in the link I provided in post 3 of this thread that I think clearly demonstrates the issue, for investigation.

Hi,

I'm working on making a file equipped with iLogic that suppresses and unsuppresses a large number of parts and subassemblies within an assembly. But I have a few parts that present this error when they are referenced while suppressed:

"Error in rule: Valve_Body, in document: 2-4 CONFIG.iam

Component: The component named "0097-34:3" was not found."

This error stops the rule from continuing and appears whether I am trying to unsuppress the suppressed part or the rule is just leaving it suppressed. It does not have any issues with these parts while they are unsuppressed. It is only with some of the parts, but it is consistently the same parts and always fails in this same way. What can I do to make these parts visible to iLogic while they are suppressed.

Best,

Chris

Can you at least post the iLogic Code? Potentially the assembly? I have written a fair amount of iLogic code that supresses and unsupresses based on parameters/code, and haven't come across this issue. Silly question, you're not in the Master LOD are you?

Hi @Anonymous

Welcome to the forum.

See this thread, and check the Names tab as shown to see if it matches.

If you see something similar, there might be something hinky going on that has not yet been identified, but providing more information would be helpful.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis
http://inventortrenches.blogspot.com

Resolved.

It was the same issue as you have solved in that post. The name changes when the part is suppressed.

can you tell us if the files you were seeing the issue with are Frame Generator files? That might help in understanding this issue more.

I actually don't know. I don't believe so. I believe the issue came from the fact that these parts were previously renamed while in the Vault. When suppressed, they seem to regress back to the previous name for some reason, not in the model browser, but in the name bank that iLogic is looking for. I check it by opening the iProperties and looking at the window title. And actually, while I think I've identified this as the issue, I'm still working on figuring out how to fix it. Rename Browser Nodes with the default new name works when I move the parts to a new assembly, but it doesn't work in my existing assembly. (I don't know how the parts were made exactly because they are from my work and were made before I started here. This is also why I can't post the parts here, don't have permission.)
