Hi, many times when I export a file to an inventor, a 2d sketch, the geometry remains as you say, and you cannot move it easily. A good practice that has been very useful for me is to select all the entities and create a block in the Inventor Sketch. Now you can move and rotate this block without problems. One clarification is that this method does not maintain a link to the source file. But it is very effective when for example you need to make a laser cut on one side for example, and you need to model the figure in an inventor quickly and efficiently.
Please attach some image of your problem or some simple model to analyze it. regards

Hello, I have a sheet metal layout, attached below, and I was wondering if there was a way to export this sketch into an inventor sketch so I can cut out each hole from the AutoCAD drawing. I can export this drawing into inventor, however it is not constrained at all so I can not move it to the desired location within my inventor sketch without the geometry getting messed up. On top of that, when i export it into inventor, I can not use the geometry to cut, or extrude the holes, I have to sketch holes on top of what I export in.
