Hey All,

I am working on trying to take complex modeled shapes from my cinema4d work space and bringing them into AutoCad. Whenever I make all the pieces editable and then export the file as a 3ds. none of the shape come with it. Does anyone have a way to export a file from Cinema4d to then open it in AutoCad?

Hi,

does Cinema4D has the ability to create a STEP, IGES, ACIS or FBX file? Then you can use these one(s).

I can export an FBX file but when I import the file it does not show up period. Not even a dialog box asking for preferences in autocad when I hit import.

Hi,

>> it does not show up period

Wow.

I just try to help ... period.

When I start command FBXIMPORT I get that dialog:

If I uncheck the "insert file as block" option, let the command do it's job and then use zoom extents, I get the geometry displayed.

You might upload your file so we can see if there might be issues with the FBX-file itself.
