Hello,

Wondering if anyone knows of a simple way to assign materials to faces the only way I know how is through SOLIDEDIT but I feel like a drag and drop with faces or full object selection should be a thing and I may just be missing it. Any other quicker paths are welcome suggestions too.

Select the desired faces in any way (by clicking or using a frame while pressing CTRL or using the subobject selection mode) and then assign a material and color to all selected solid faces at once. it doesn’t matter whether it’s on one solid or 100 at once.

If you want to create materials with the desired name directly in the properties panel, then the regular properties panel cannot do this, but the AVC Properties Palette plugin can.

(BTW It can create new layers by simply entering a new name in the Layer property of any object)

https://youtu.be/ETIMTQ_Xdbo
