tema Viewport Error en AutoCAD Forum

When I go into paperspace from model space, I'm unable to select the viewport. The black viewport square is missing and when I click the Edit Viewport command, I get an error saying that the command could not be completed because the drawing was last edited in a newer version of AutoCad. I have the 2016 version, and I've never opened these drawings on another computer before. I came across this issue when trying to freeze a few layers in the viewport and realized that I couldn't. When I double click on the drawing in the paperspace, I'm able to edit the drawing, whereas previously I had to go back into modelspace in order to make any changes. The only change I've made to the drawing is that I inserted some plumbing blocks that I downloaded from the Kohler website. I hope someone can help me figure out what's going on!

Re: Viewport Error

I don't know what happened to my earlier reply but it appears to have disappeared from the newsgroup.

To recap, viewedit (pictured in your first image) only applies to viewports created with viewbase. The error you are getting in response to viewbase is typical useless gobbledygook. It should say "Don't pick a regular viewport. Pick a viewbase viewport." To edit in a viewport double click within the viewports extents. To display the viewport make sure the layer on which the viewport is drawn is on, thawed and viewport thawed in paperspace. It might be that your viewport lined up with your titleblock, in which case, you may not see it. It is also possible but unlikely that you have accidentally put the model space objects into paper space by using the chspace command.

If that doesn't answer your question, post the drawing. Alfred's suggestion of using recover or audit on the drawing might be appropriate.
