Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Mike,

1) Where do you save your drawings? Locally or on the Network drive? If the second, then: can you reproduce this issue locally?

2) Can you attach one of the drawings you "Save as" from AutoCAD LT 2017 and then unable to open in 2015 version of AutoCAD ? You can delete everything in this drawing before saving.

3) There should be no issues between AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT if you are using the same file format.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD for Mac forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

AutoCAD 2015 for Mac is not supported or designed for High Sierra. I would be very careful running this configuration. If you must stay with that version on the two workstations, I recommend down-grading the OS.

File format for AutoCAD 2013-2017 is the same so you should not have issues opening and sharing your files between these versions.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

HI John,
since the two older machine are running Sierra - then what your telling me is the problem is a result of the upgrade to “high sierra” on the newest Mac

I apologize but I misread the first line of your statement and thought that the 2015 installs were also on High Sierra.

Is the version of 2017 you installed a 2017.2 version? Can you attach a file that you have opened on the High Sierra Mac?

yes _ I went through step to install service pack and prompt said it was already installed.

I tried to attach a file we opened and were able to save back to different root directory but when trying to send this email kept getting prompt that the attachment file was "still loading" and to wait to send email.
this went on for 5 mins. - eventually deleting attachment

Hi @Anonymous,

Are you saving to your local machine or is this a different location such as a network share, NAS, Flashdrive, etc? Sometimes this error arises due to lack of memory or because of permissions.

I’m not sure what a NAS is but we sue the hard drive of one of the older Macs as the main keeper of all files and “share” files with the other computers in office
Some else mentioned “permissions” - perhaps this is something I need to look into further

Hi @Anonymous,

NAS means Network Attached Storage.

Please try the workflow keeping all the files local (on one MAC) and let me know if that behaves. Then also try creating a new share on the "Old Mac" and set the permissions so that you have full rights to read and write.
