Converting 3D DWG TO 2D DWG

Hi guys. I'm bit of a novice when it comes to AutoCAD so I hope someone can help.

I have some 3D DWG files of office seating that were created by someone else and need to create overhead plan view 2D DWG versions of these.

If I simply open in AutoCAD (I have a 30 day trial) and export to a file as a dwg via the FLATSHOT command, will this create the best version. Or can someone recommend a better process? See image.

It looks like you are using autocad for mac. if you dont get a sufficient answer in this forum i might hop over to the mac forum and ask there

Plus - VIEWBASE command is not available in AutoCAD for Mac.
