Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

You can use different methods according to your needs:

- Use clipboard to copy entire drawing and paste it to another drawing - open two drawings, than use menu Edit -> Copy and select all objects in the drawing, than switch to another drawing and use menu Edit -> Paste.

- Use INSERT command (menu Insert -> Block..., than use Browse button to navigate to the drawing you want to insert into opened drawing) - you need to check "Explode block" if you want to insert drawing as individual objects.

- Use menu Insert -> DWG Reference to insert external DWG as reference - a kind of block, which you can see inside current drawing, but you need to edit it separately.

Maxim

Hi @Anonymous,

Maxim_K offers some good suggestions here.

I would also suggest that you check to see if there is anything unique in your blocks before doing this. If one block is in both drawings but is defined differently then you will only end up with one version.

You might also have this problem with Text styles, dimension styles and the like.

Most of this might not matter to you but you might want to be aware of it. To eliminate the problems you can simply rename any of the above.

I usually (if merging big and complicated drawings) like to use external references to make sure that everything looks like it is located correctly and doesn't have any strange things going on. Then, when I am comfortable with it, I will Insert Bind them so they end up in one file.
