Simply add a comment on those elements, then create a schedule with a filter.
You can also automate the process with Dynamo/DynamoPlayer.

Indeed, that should be available through Revit Menu.

Schedule Selected Elements

Short version: We need a radio button to "Schedule Selected Items" in the Schedule Properties dialog.

More context:

There have been similar Wish List requests which @CoreyDaun has provided good feedback on how to accomplish this through the existing functionality which we all very much appreciate. That said, the option to quickly select a few elements and have the Schedule filter out all the rest would be extremely powerful if for no other reason than quick QA/QC model information review. Having to create or input into a parameter something that will be the differentiator should not be necessary in my opinion.

Let me know if I'm missing something.

I can see this causing problems.

Once the schedule has been created, how would you tell which elements is applies to?

Can it be modified?

What happens if you add or delete a nearby element?

Would this schedule carry over day-to day?

I'd propose a change to your Idea:

Rather than create a new Schedule based on your current selection, how about filtering an existing schedule to show only selected elements? You can select elements on the Schedule and "Highlight in Model". How about going the other way?

Select elements in the model, and "Filter Schedule"

Once the schedule has been created, how would you tell which elements is applies to?

Select the element > Highlight in Model

Can it be modified? Yes

What happens if you add or delete a nearby element? I don't follow?

Would this schedule carry over day-to day? Potentially, but not likely. The context is to quickly review a selected sample set of elements and their alignment with a created schedule. This would be a "working" schedule.

I'd propose a change to your Idea:

Rather than create a new Schedule based on your current selection, how about filtering an existing schedule to show only selected elements? Filtering an Existing Schedule by Selected Elements is the idea. You can select elements on the Schedule and "Highlight in Model". How about going the other way?

Select elements in the model, and "Filter Schedule" This would definitely work in some scenarios. But the issue we keep running across is that some elements have "incorrect" parameters or their input units / format don't align etc. This is more of a QA/QC check and needs to be quick. But I like your idea for sure.

I think this is a good idea, basically an "opt in" list schedule.

Make me a schedule with this, this and that... Kind of like a grocery list. Humans mostly make lists like this. Pick what's included.

Revit schedules and filtering are very backwards compared to this natural inclination. You have to make a schedule of everything and then figure out ways to divide and filter your schedule down to be just what you want.

99% of the time you end up having to make up some nonsense parameter and manually fill it with junk to get something you can use a filter on.
