In the family editor, it's hard to see what components are hidden. In this screenshot, the right handle is hidden, but it looks exactly like the left handle.

Surprisingly, AutoCAD has a clearer system to show hidden families greyed out. Please copy this system to help us hide hidden components and understand our families in the family editor.

Save

There's already a tool to do this.

Revit 2016 R2, maybe? added a "Preview Visibility" icon to the View Control Bar (in line with the scale)

Click it on and it will display only the elements that are visible. You can switch Types or change Instance parameters and see the results immediately.

That's a good step forward, but a transparency option would be appreciated.

Thanks for the tip!
