idea Wired Basket Tray Model en Revit Ideas

Revit's fabrication parts come with a basket tray that is modeled as per what one would roughly look like. Would be nice if they incorporated their fabrication parts basket tray to their system family for wired basket tray (which is currently modeled as a solid U shape).

Hello-- thanks for the suggestion..

What would incorporating the fabrication part basket tray into the system family enable you to do that you can't already do with the Fabrication part?

Hey Martin, thanks for the reply;

Currently with fabrication parts, you need to manually pick which parts you want to use, and where you want to place them, where as with a system family, its all done by drawing a line. If you draw a 90 degree line with the system family tool, it adds both straight runs and the 90 degree bend automatically for you at the pre-determined height you set. This way, creating a basket tray becomes as simple as creating a ladder tray, and looks as good (rather than looking like the U-shaped solid object that it looks like now).

Ive managed to completely edit the basket tray system family so that it models to the correct looking family, but there is no drop down box in the edit type for the straight run which results in me drawing my line, and having all basket tray parts populate properly except for the straight run which revit will populate with its Solid U-shape basket tray.

Either the ability to fully edit the system family to include the straight run drop down, or incorporating a proper looking basket tray into the system family would suffice for this issue. Preferably both would be nice so that we can either use Revits families or our own depending on project and LOD client requires
