I second this request.

Our standard company font used across all media (including design documentation) is an OTF so as of now Revit is the outlier when it comes to look & feel and graphic continuity.

For instance, I might have a letter to a client in Word, a client facing strategy Powerpoint presentation, a graphics/marketing InDesign package, and a schematic design (built environment) Revit package... All the documents produced in this example can be treated identically for formatting and font usage except for the Revit set where we would have to use a non-standard off-brand font (instead of our brand-standard OTF).

Side note:

I recently attended Autodesk University in Las Vegas hoping one of the knowledgeable staff might have a work around or news of a future fix but with no luck, they referred me here.

There are two versions of OTF fonts... OTF fonts with TrueType outlines and OTF fonts with Postscript outlines. I believe Revit supports OTF/TT fonts without trouble, but does not support OTF/PS fonts. This is unfortunate since a vast majority of modern fonts are offered as OTF/PS files.

But... it also looks like Revit does actually support OTF/PS fonts, it's just that they are blocked from appearing in the font drop-down selector. More info here:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/revit-actually-does-support-otf-ps-fonts-just-not-in-the-drop/td-p/6992988

But overall, agreed, Revit should fully support OTF/PS fonts.

Would also agree with this; branding is a critical part of selling design and it would be extremely helpful to have access to a wider array of modern font definitions.
