idea More control over system override (color / line style) en Revit Ideas

System override is great, it is always sad to see that cable trays and conduits don't have it. If I remember well, it was introduced in Revit 2013. Filter management was a pain ! But, it is still painfull to see how limited you control over it is.

Issues :

When your client want to make some render with your model, it all displays with the same material. It's pretty ok to get all duct within a system with same galvanised steel but it is not to get Air Terminal, accesories and mechanical equipments the same way.

When people start working on Revit. They always see line style override and say «Great» then they see that it override axis, borders and insulations…

Ideas to solve it :

Be able to desactivate system override by view/view template.

Be able to choose which objects categories are overriden by system type.

Be able to choose in family parameter if the object is overriden.

Be able to choose independantly override on axis, borders and insulation by system type.

Be able in system type to override material only in shaded mode with appearance remaining «By category».
