Reference plane subcategories in families are great for making clear, well constructed, parametric families. However bringing all the reference plane subcategories from every family author into the project means that good content creators have to choose between clear families or uncluttered project environments. Since the reference planes in a family are never visible in the project environment there is no good reason to automatically create them in the project environment.

You would need to be able to allow some of these reference planes to feature in the project though e.g. a door or window centreline.

that's already possible though, you can reference as ''important'' or not and a few other options in the properties tab
